Weddings

Most of my weddings are Taranaki based but I will travel wherever, I love exploring new places  & if I get to photograph a wedding while there it’s an added bonus. There will be travel fees associated with this of course so contact me & we can have a chat about this.

Every single couple feels this way! Most of us aren’t naturals in front of the camera (including me so I get it!!) My style lends more towards less stiff posing, you won’t be standing in one place staring at the camera…there will be lots of movement & I alot of my direction will be getting you to interact with one another which shouldn’t be hard, you just got married right??? If you’re still feeling worried perhaps have a chat to me about booking an engagement shoot pre wedding so you can get used to me & getting your photo taken. And lastly, just about every wedding party I’ve photographed have come away from the portraits saying  “that wasn’t so bad! I actually enjoyed it”

This can be a tough one for couples when looking at all the options. Most couples book the 10 hour package with me purely because they get everything covered from a bit of getting ready prep right through to some dance floor antics. However, every couple is different & it comes down to having a little chat & deciding on what you feel is most important to you. My packages are structured in a way that you can decide when I start-whether that is early in the morning to capture more getting ready things or just before ceremony so that I stay later at night it’s up to you. We’ll chat at length about this during the booking stage & I can give you some ideas & tips with this as well.

Probably the biggest concern with wedding days is the weather! Most couples will have a wet weather back up for the ceremony & then it’s just a case of being creative & finding cool buildings with awnings or doorways etc. Most of the time it is usually just light rain & I’m more than happy to traipse about- my camera is waterproofed for light rain & I bring clear umbrellas that can look pretty cool in photos as well. You can also get quite creative with rain & lighting at night so there’s that as well! If it helps, out of the 6 years Ive been shooting weddings I’ve only had 3 weddings where it has been torrential, non stop rain so that’s pretty good odds I think!! At the end of the day, you still get to marry your other half & rain doesn’t get in the way of a good party so let’s just roll with it & have some fun!

The only list I need from you is the list of family/friend shots you would like for the time we carve out for this. I’ve been photographing weddings long enough to know which moments need to be captured & I have a process & flow that I follow to get all the important shots. There are some pretty crazy shot lists floating around Pinterest & the likes and while I know the intention behind them if you choose the right photographer & trust them you shouldn’t have to worry about them getting all the important moments captured. It’s pretty much a given that we’re going to capture you walking down the aisle, your first kiss etc and having big extensive lists can really damage the flow of a photographer during the day & we’ll most likely miss something as we’re trying to remember everything on the list. In saying that, if there is something really important that must be captured which is outside of a normal wedding timeline please let me know before the day so I can make sure I capture it for you.
